Huck’s Easter Basket: How to Decorate with a One-Year-Old and Hot Glue
Huck and I made this Easter basket and eggs together. I discovered a great way to use hot glue with kids or toddlers during this project! I have a bunch of those adhesive mounting squares (affiliate link) used for scrapbooking. Since I discovered Monoadhesive (affiliate link), I never use them. But now they have a purpose again! I apply a mounting square to the pom-pom, yarn hair, foamie shapes, or whatever I want Huck to place–essentially turning it into a temporary “sticker” and letting him do all of the placement. When he’s all done, I make his design permanent by hot gluing on the elements that he placed. That way it is all his design without him having to get anywhere near hot glue.
