Guest Review: Kris of Everywhere Orange reviews Megan Nielsen’s “The Rie” Dress
I am so excited to present the very first guest post for The Summer of No Pants! I asked Kris from everywhere orange to try out Megan Nielsen‘s The Rie Dress and tell us about her experience making it. Here’s Kris:
Hello Hideous! Dreadful! Stinky! readers!! I’m Kris from everywhere orange. I’m beyond excited to a part of The Summer of No Pants Challenge. I am a lover of all things orange, cooking and am a long time sewer. I have made quilts, sewn Halloween costumes and tons of baby gifts but never made clothes. The fear of mismatched pants legs scared me out of trying to sew clothes. This was the first dress I ever made and it was so easy!
Last summer, I was excited when Marigold started on the no pants challenge and was envious. I am a hardcore pants wearer, I only own one skirt and one dress that isn’t my wedding dress! Last summer I thought, “I am not a good enough sewer to participate,” so I frumped around all summer in my pants. Now, I am not ready to give up pants completely, my hubby and son won’t recognize me!! But I am ready to try to make a few skirts 🙂 Come on over and check out my pattern review for Megan Neilsen’s The Rie Dress.
Thank you so much, Kris! If you’re intimidated by the idea of making your own clothing, please jump on over to everywhere orange and read about Kris’s experience with making her first dress. Want even more motivation to start sewing? Megan Nielsen is generously offering a Rie Dress pattern to one lucky winner. See the The Rie Dress Giveaway! post for full details.
