Guest Tutorial: Pockets with Andi from Laudry on the Line
One of the biggest challenges I have with The Summer of No Pants is living without pockets! I am a mom of two little boys, and little boys need Mom to hold their stuff! Today’s guest is Andi from Laundry on the Line, and she’s going to show you five types of pockets that you can add to your skirts.
Hi there! I’m Andi, a teacher and seamstress who lives on the East Coast of Canada. I can’t imagine life without sewing, in the same way that I couldn’t imagine summer without skirts and dresses! When I was young my grandmother used to make me dresses and skirts with coordinating blouses and always included a pocket with a matching handkerchief tucked inside. I still love to wear skirts as often as possible, and as a teacher of young children pockets are really important to me. Nowadays they are more likely to contain an odd assortment of hair ties, stones, plastic rings, and other treasures my students give me to hold on to, although there are times those old handkerchiefs would come in handy, too! Happy sewing, and enjoy the Summer of No Pants!
