Handmade Halloween Costume Month Kick-Off!
It’s October! It doesn’t really feel like October yet in Southern California. Of course, it is Southern California, so all the seasons feel the same. Nonetheless, I am trying to get into the Autumn spirit of things and have dutifully purchased my Custard and Apple Cinnamon scented candles, and the ingredients for Ginger Pumpkin Quick Bread are sitting in my pantry ready to fill my home with scents that shall trigger memories of places where the leaves turn orange and the air bites your nose and Ugg boots are necessary and don’t just look stupid with your stupid hot pants and stupid tank top…
Let it go. Let it go!
So are you guys ready for the First Annual Hideous! Dreadful! Stinky! Handmade Halloween Costume Series!
I can’t heeeeeeeeeeeeear you!
I said, ARE YOU GUYS READY FOR THE FIRST ANNUAL HIDEOUS! DREADFUL! STINKY! HANDMADE *stop and catch breath* HALLOWEEN COSTUME SERIES?!

Honestly, I still can’t hear you, even if you’re sitting there yelling at your computer screen, so I’m just going to assume that you’re ready.
I have lots of guest bloggers lined up to present some great tutorials, round-ups and costume making tips for us. I’m mostly set up for my boys’ costumes. Huck wants to be a good pirate and I found this great out-of-print costume pattern to make for him. It is pretty elaborate, but I think I can pull it off by Halloween night. Milo want’s to be a “punching guy” and I don’t think I need a pattern for his costume. I’ll show my progress for both costumes as they come along! As for myself and Steve, I/we still haven’t decided what to do! We haven’t dressed up for a few years, but I think I would really like to try to pull something together this year, and I know the boys would love it if we did.
See you tomorrow with my first guest! You’re in for a real treat!
