SONP Guest Post! Nicole from Cicely Ingleside!
Hello from the foggy and windy island of Newfoundland, off the east coast of Canada! As our tourism posters say, we are so far east we have our own time zone (which is a bizarre half hour ahead of Atlantic Time). My name is Nicole, and my blog is called Cicely Ingleside, and I post about things that I have made for myself and my kids, and my home. A lot of it is sewing-related, with some embroidery, felting and other DIY stuff, including home projects like refinishing furniture.
I’d like to thank Marigold for the opportunity to contribute a post to the Summer of No Pants. When I contacted her with my ideas about making a tulle this and a taffeta that, with some ostrich feathers and brocade thrown in, she suggested a round-up of materials like tulle and taffeta, which I thought was a great idea. I had tried to make my own tulle skirt last year and struggled with how to pull it off, and I wish I had seen some of these tutorials and patterns then.
So, are you scared of tulle? Do you think it’s only for ballerinas? If so, come on over to my blog, and I’ll show you some inspiration photos and ideas, including tutorials and patterns, to inspire you to up your tulle quotient, and pretty-up your summer sewing. You will be all ready to attend those 5 weddings you have to go to over the summer (don’t we all?), or just to feel pretty on a normal day.
