Crochet Cocktail rings
I can do a very basic crochet stitch, but otherwise I have some kind of mental block that prevents me from taking my fiber arts to the next level. Fortunately, one of the awesome things about having regular contributors here on Hideous! Dreadful! Stinky! is that they can bring you tutorials for crafts that I kind of stink at doing myself! I first saw Kelley’s awesome cocktail rings over on her Instagram and am so excited to have her share her new mad skillz here with you guys today! Here’s Kelley:
This month at Casa Crafty I have been learning all about fiber arts. I’ve started with the well known in knit and crochet. I have been teaching myself. This has involved a lot of youtube videos and ripping out of a project to start over. After an Amigurumi experiment I was thinking, these fancy knots would be fun as a ring!voila! the cocktail ring was born.
these are crocheted with a 3.0 mm crochet hook and #5 perle cotton. I like to use Week’s Dye Works. for beginning crochet help: see this post
abbreviations: ch – chain, sc- single crochet, dc- double crochet, dec- decrease stitch
pattern for the double ring: ch 2
6 dc in 2nd chain
6 dc in top loop
*1 dc, then 2 dc in next* repeat 3 times
*1 dec, then 1 dc in next * repeat 3 times
2 dec repeat 3 times
go through the center of the tube you’ve created and do 2 sc
dc in each stitch around your “stone” creating a setting.
repeat 2 more rows in top loops creating the band: pick a point to start a chain.
ch 8, connect to the opposite side with a sc.
turn and sc in each stitch back along the band.
slip stitch and finish.
The pattern for the stacked single color ring is the same beginning as the 2 color ring. only you skip changing the color and you flatten the tube connecting the band from side to side. good luck and have fun!!!
