SONP2014 Guest Post: The Southern Institute!
Oh, we made it to Friday! I hope you managed to get out of your pants this week. Today we have Jenny from The Southern Institute, who spotted a crazy deal and ran with it! Here’s Jenny:
Hello, everyone! I’m so excited to be wrapping up this week of SONP 2014. I’m one of those girls who forgets how comfy a skirt or dress is in the summer until I put one on. Then I’m all, “Ahhhhhh, I should wear one of these every day!” I’m also one of those girls who loves a good deal. Come by The Southern Institute today and see what kind of deal I found and what I did with it. See you there!
Thanks so much, Jenny! I also want to mention that Jenny just turned 40 years old this month, and in a generous spirit, she created a fundraiser to give back to women who are hurting and need our help through Enchanted Makeovers. Most of us are so fortunate, aren’t we? We have families who love us, homes to take care of, food on the table, jobs to go to, or we choose to stay home with our children because we can. Can you imagine not having those gifts in your life?
“Since 2007, Enchanted Makeovers’ mission has been to transform homeless shelters for women and children into places that inspire behavioral and psychological change. Through our various projects, mentoring programs and makeovers of the physical space, women and children are introduced to a way of thinking that helps to shift their outlook about their lives and possibilities for the future. The shelter is transformed into a ‘beacon of hope’. Mentoring programs such as the Sacred Sewing Room, Stepping into the Dream and Capes for Kids develop important life and coping skills.”
